Today starts one week of preservation focus in the US. The link shows a list of activities going on. There should be something like this in Europe as well!

Ooooh, found fellow conservators on tumblr! They have posted some nice videos and before and after treatment photos. Interesting to see what more will come.

From the website Archives outside I found a nice, short description of what to do if you discover mold growth in your collection.

The best thing is of course to have the right environmental conditions in order to avoid the mold in the first place, but if that isn’t the case, here’s a good place to start.

Mold can be nasty and unhealthy to work with, so make sure you protect yourself during handling of infected objects. Also it is not advised to use any disinfectant on paper material, instead vacuuming and manual removal is best.
